Federal Criminal Defense

Bain, Files, Jarrett, Bain & Harrison, P.C.

Bringing Resolution to Serious Federal Criminal Charges

If you find out that you are the target of a federal criminal investigation, you need to be proactive and hire an experienced federal crimes attorney, preferably before you are indicted. The goal in federal criminal defense is to keep you from being indicted; because once you are indicted, the punishment can become severe.

At Bain, Files, Jarrett, Bain & Harrison, we represent people who are being investigated for all types of federal crimes, including:

  • Federal drug crimes, which often involve larger quantities of drugs or the combination of drugs and guns.
  • White collar crimes such as mail fraud, bank fraud, wire fraud, securities fraud, and money laundering, tax evasion, and RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) crimes.
  • Federal violent crimes such as bank robbery, carjacking, and weapons offenses

At Bain, Files, Jarrett, Bain & Harrison, our federal and white collar criminal defense team will be proactive in planning your defense. We will immediately contact the U.S. Attorney's office to find out what evidence they already have and what charges they are considering. We will also act as your voice with the federal authorities, such as bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), and the U.S. Attorney's office.

Federal courts follow a different set of rules than state courts, and not every criminal defense lawyer is competent to practice in federal court. For example, last year, the federal sentencing guidelines became discretionary, and only an experienced federal crimes attorney will know how to effectively argue why you need a downward departure.
