F.R. "Buck" Files shareholder, is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (1975) and in Criminal Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (1997). A founding member of the firm, Mr. Files practices in the areas of criminal law and civil rights. Mr. Files received his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1963; he also holds his Bachelor of Arts from Austin College in Sherman, Texas, as well as a Masters in Liberal Arts from SMU. He is licensed in both Texas state courts and before the federal bar, and is a frequent presenter at continuing legal education seminars.

J. Brett Harrison shareholder, is a board certified specialist in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as well as in Criminal Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (2006), and practices exclusively criminal law, both State and Federal, with a focus on litigation. Formerly the First Assistant District Attorney for Smith County, Mr. Harrison has successfully prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases before Smith County juries. During his time as the First Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Harrison was responsible for supervising all of the courts and the prosecutors in the District Attorney's Office. Mr. Harrison also has extensive experience handling juvenile matters, misdemeanors and all types of felonies including Capital Murder death penalty cases.

Jennifer Garrett Deen of counsel, is a board certified specialist in Juvenile Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Formerly an Assistant District Attorney with the Smith County District Attorney's office, Mrs. Deen has been practicing Juvenile Law since 1995. Mrs. Deen received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin in 1989 and her law degree from the University of Miami in Miami, Florida in 1993. She was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1994 and the Florida Bar in 1993. Ms. Deen practices Juvenile and Criminal Defense. She also handles school matters such as truancy, school suspension and expulsion hearings.
